Shame on Rotschy for violating child labor laws and injuring children! Rotschy is a non-union Washington- based contractor with hundreds of violations and fines, responsible for the amputation of a 16-year-old workers’ legs, and at least one other child injury. Rotschy’s violations reportedly include:

  • Overworking children at least 230 times
  • Allowing children to operate on or near prohibited machines on at least 35 occasions
  • Denying children’s meal breaks at least 45 times and working children for more hours than state law allows and during school hours on more than 150 occasions
  • Violating child labor laws, leading to at least 2 injured children on Rotschy job sites
  • Knowingly violating DEQ permit requirements and polluting the Willamette River

Shame on Bigfoot Beverages for threatening striking workers and attempting to illegally remove pension benefits!

“Amid an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike at Bigfoot Beverages, Teamsters Locals 206 and 324 have charged the company with additional ULPs for unlawfully threatening workers for engaging in federally protected union activity. Bigfoot workers went on strike September 19 after Bigfoot attempted to unlawfully eliminate a core pension benefit and lied to the bargaining committee.” – Teamsters Press Release

Shame on Oregon-Columbia AGC for blocking local apprenticeships, community benefits, and work for a skilled and diverse workforce by filing a restraining order against ODOT to prevent a community workforce agreement for much needed state infrastructure projects!

Valley Landfills

Shame on Valley Landfills for having workers operate in unsafe and hazardous conditions while refusing to include affordable and accessible healthcare in their contract!

Shame on Vestas for using Oregon incentives and tax breaks and utilizing workforce and state-registered apprenticeships. Vestas needs to stop hiring out-of-state contractors and invest in Oregon’s local labor!
